I've just downloaded a trial version of the software before we think about getting it for all members of staff.

We're trying to create a custom estimate, based on the standard one we use here, however, no-one can figure out how to remove the blue header / footer that appears.

Could someone please show me the light?

Click to select it and then hit the delete key.

If you have having trouble selecting the element (it's a box), then use the outline view. In there, look for box and click on it (in the outline). The Report Writer will select the element. If it's the correct one, simply hit the delete key (while in the canvas).

Also, is there anyway to change the rules into mm not inches?

The rulers respect your system preferences (as set in the International pane).
