Hi -

I have a good number of reports where the page does not seem to break in the correct place. ie. that data is written to straight across the page and overwrites the header / footers.

I didn't see any mention of this, so perhaps it is just me...

Anyone have any suggestions on this?

Thanks,
Dan

Can you post a link to download an example of such a report? Usually this happens because the "body" of the report overlaps the decorative (header and footer) elements.

Currently there is no specific way to instruct a page break, but almost all of these issues can be solved by a slight restructuring of the report or resizing of the body element.

Hi Dan

I need to be able to see the whole report window actually, to be able to distinguish between all of the elements, if that's possible. Thx!

Could you do one more favour? If you use the "Outline" tab on the left hand side of the report window, and option-click on the first (highest) triangle, you will get a complete "tree" of all the elements in the report. If you could post that, it would help a great deal.

Thx!

If I understand correctly...

'Bytsage' is a 'group by'

'Bystage s' is a dynamic text box

Is there any way to tell once the item has been renamed?

The best wayt to tell is to select the item and use the inspectors to the right to see what kind of object it is.

It doesn't quite make sense to me that bystage s is a text box, because usually tables must go inside strips.

That being said, the best way to design this would be to have a strip for each "different" vertical area of the report. So my structure for the main body of this would look like:

BODY
STRIP
BOX WITH INSTRUCTIONS
STRIP
GROUP BY
TABLE

It is actually not perfectly clear from these screens (thanks for posting them, it helps a lot in diagnosing these problems) what's going on. The best way to deal with this now would be to escalate this issue to our support team (click Support at the top of the page). Send the report to us, and we will look at it (our support is free by email).

Sorry I don't have a quicker solution as yet...

thx,

adam
