I would like to define a report where I select and sort on Organization but include Contact information, as well. I will be content if I can get all Contacts linked to the an Organization as a string but I would really like to be able to display a sub-array or table of all of the contacts along with their roles, or the default contact with its role. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Bob

I am a absolute newbie playing with the demo and have been trying to find the same thing.

When editing the reports dynamic field click on reports to the upper right>object>Default Role>Organization and you'll find the organization fields.

I am still trying to find the Relationship info like they have on the built in Contact Summary.

Thanks,
Edward Cross, Pastor

That's the correct path Edward.

There are three answers to this question. The first is that you can do as Edward suggests - go from the contact to get to the default organization.
The second is that you nest a table and display all organizations linked to the contact.
And the third is that you can use the Organization as a starting point and nest a table with all contacts linked to that organization in the nested table.

Hi! I'm back with this topic... sort of.

My business practice is to designate my primary organization contact as having the default role for each organization. When I do mass mailings I must select on my organizations. Now I have a list of organizations to which I need to address a mailing. I want the first address line on my letters and envelopes to be the person's name who has the default role for the organization. The rest, of course, is easy, since I'm starting with the organization as the "location" for the print layout. Help, please! Thanks!

Humm ... this is a bit tricky. The issue is that we don't have the concept of a 'designated' contact for an organization. What we have is the reverse - the default organization for a contact.

So the answer is to work with the contact rather than the organization.

To locate these contacts, do a compound filter where you filter the contact and then filter the default role -> organization as you did when you filtered the organizations by itself.

If you have no way to identify these contacts as the principals contacts for a organization. Then maybe you could use a Keyword.

I have made a report that I think looks like the one you want. Some labels are in Swedish but you can change that easily.
Install the report in Temkplates and choose the companies you would like to see and print - the Layout is called Företagsinformation (Company info in Swedish)
