I have created some simple print layouts for contacts information which work well. I sort the contacts in the order I wish them to appear before I go to Print and select the layout I wish to use. This works well when i am highlighting contacts in the Contacts view.

However we also use DayLite groups to put contacts into sendout groups. In the Groups view i can select a group and in the 2nd column view all contacts I have placed into that group. i can then select all these contacts and go to the appropriate print layout and everything works fine EXCEPT i can't sort the contacts in the order I would like. Does anyone know how i can do the following (i have read various resources but can't work out how to do this):

1. I want to be able to make changes to some of my print layouts so that no matter what order the selected data is in, in the actual print layout report it always sorts by Organisation (that contact belongs to) then by contact last name - any suggestions about how i can modify my print layout report to achieve this?

Many thanks!

Lee

I have just partially answered my own question but it is still not fully resolved:

On my report I go to the Table element - and at the bottom of its properties it has the option to set up "sorting" eg. I can choose to sort my data by lastname in ascending order. However it doesn't have the option to sort or group data be organisation name - any suggestions????

The keys that are available depend of what kind of object the table with working with. Let's say it's a contact in this case. Then the thing you want to sort by is defaultRole.organization.name and if you don't see that in the drop down list, simply type it in (case sensitive).

Now, you may ask - how the heck would I have known that? The answer is - look at the Daylite Data Description document. If that doesn't work - then ask smile
