Slips on invoice not in chronological order for start date|

I usually show the start date for each slip on the invoice but they don't appear in chronological order on the invoice.
How can I get the slips into start date chronological order without resorting to building a custom invoice? I suspect the cause of this is that the sort order is based on the creation date of the slip rather than the start date of the work. This conclusion is inferred from daylite use where tasks in some views are sorted on creation date. In my case slips from work in my own office are usually entered at the time of the work but slips recording work at the clients office are not entered until the end of the month; so I need the ability to sort on start date. Any suggestions? Thanks |

Generally, Billings sorts slips on an invoice in the same way that they are sorted on the Working Slips tab. Clicking a column header there will result in the slips being re-sorted, and an invoice sent will tend to reflect that. The exception, and also the feature that allows you to specify a different sort order, is when you manually create your own invoice design (which can be made in just a few seconds if it's just a copy of one of our built-in designs). In the design window, you can select the invoice table, and open the Sorting inspector on the right hand side. Then, click the + button and choose "startDateTime" from the pop-up menu. Click OK, then save the invoice design (in Home/Library/Application Support/Billings/Templates/ When you use that invoice design, the slips will be sorted by start date. HTH adam |
