Hi there, bit of a feature request I guess, they only way I can find to initiate a sync from the app, (ie not at my desk, but want to sync the info there) is to close and re-open the app, is that the case, if so do you plan on adding a sync function from the app side?
Actually we debated long and hard about this. In the end, we decided that users would believe that they can sync from anywhere (a la Daylite Touch), but they can't because they need to be on the **same** **WiFi** network. So the occurrence of when you can sync is pretty low.
There is a menu item in the desktop app that initiates the sync. We assume that when you are at your computer, your iPhone/iPod will be close by and likely on the same wifi network.

AJ - 2Do uses a little helper app which passes the data to iCal. You could build the helper app into the Desktop Billings, and make it clear that syncing is only possible when Billings is running on the target computer.
On the subject of syncing, am I right in assuming that the touch device can act as a "go-between" to enable syncs between laptop and desktop, à la 1Password?

I'll add my voice to this - I find having to initiate sync via the machine frustrating and unintuitive. Sending all services over VPN would allow the iPhone to appear on the same network as Billings, but you would have to use VNC to initiate the sync? Seems shortsighted to me. Let us dummies try to sync away from our LAN, and throw us a pleasant error message if it fails.
I had several problems trying to since but then discovered my Billings was 3.5 on the Mac and not 3.5.1 and once I updated to the newest version, my sync problem went away.
