Being a fomer Graphic Design and printing company owner, I'm kind of like an NRA member; I'll give up my mac when you pry it from my cold dead fingers. Real Estate has been a computing challenge. People in the industry are not computer savy and they cling to windows with no knowledge that something better might be out there. My MLS is relenting and moving toward an open environment, but they won't commit to a time table (Is there some sort of Iraqi terrorist analogy to be drawn here?).
Okay, I've vented. My question. Is there any desire for users of Daylite to gave a category of "Product?" This category could be used to keep track of houses for investment clients or if you sold office equipment you could track lazer printers, copiers or other products w/ a finite life span that would need replacement. Mortgage or financial types could use this to trigger replacement of a financial product when rates or adjustments might make it reasonable and profitable for a client to consider change. Just a thought... |

Please see salesforce.com $1,500 per user and it is similar to Maximizer (Windows only)which I have used as my CRM for 12+ years in the financial industry. I am now 100% mac and when I must run a company's custom real estate software I run it on vista through Parrelles on Intel laptops. I am new to Daylite however am confident this is the best system on the market, regardless of OS. I am a Mortgage Financing Consultant by day and an underwater photographer by night...all digital..apperature...nikonD200 Macbook Pro 17" Aquatica Housings.
Do not ask anyone to change, keep what they have, just offer them the uncrashability rock steady vista on a mac os. Then you can ween them into a side by side system using Daylite vs their old CRM. |

Just to update everyone, we've created a Real Estate database template, which is available for free in our latest update of Daylite (3.7).

I have Daylite 3.7. Where would I find the real estate template. Or do I have to download something from your website. By the way, I work offline in my local database.

Hi DonnaK,
To access the real estate template, just choose to work in the sample database (it will prompt you and ask which one), or when creating a new database it will ask if you'd like to use one of the templates. __________________________ rcash [at] marketcircle.com |

Ryan:
You may want to include a link for how to get all of the old information from a previous Non-templated version into the new Real Estate template. Trust me, agents are not known for their technical prowess. *********************************** Macsimum News |

Thanks for the advice Scott.
It's much easier to make note of the workflow and built-in classifications than trying to export and import your data all over again.
