I would like to hear how other indie sales reps are using Daylite. I sell products to industrial end users but I have someone else do the invoiceing and most of the procurement. I am provided with stas for those functions so all I have to do with Daylite is track sales and sales activity. I would also like to learn how to get more out of the Opportunity timeline.

I would like some info in this area myself. I use Daylite to track Prospects, appoinments, todos and sync with my treo 650 running agendus. I would love to have a guide to tell me how to get the most out of this program.

Sorry, I just read this post. I have been using DayLite for a few years in a Manufacturer's Rep Company. DayLite can handle most of the required components in terms of order tracking, communication, notifications, activity sets (good for projects that have specific timelines and requirements). DayLite 3 provides a huge improvement for the rep business over previous versions. We typically are handling a couple of hundred orders at any given time which have multiple stages. We have configured an "Order Pipeline" to use with order processing. The process can be as complex or as simple as you would like. Let me know if I can provide specific information.

Thanks Troy, would you specifically describe how you have configured the Opportunity Pipeline?

Mark - The way we break it out is as follows:
Account Forecasted Vendor Forecasted Orders Placed Vendor PO Alert Automated Shipment Notification (ASN) Partial Shipment Complete Shipment Delivered Cancelled Some of these stages were created for specific vendor requirements, but you will see the basic flow. We use extra fields in the Opportunity to retain dates and shipping information. Regards, Troy Benson |
