Okay, I could make this crazy long, but I will try my best to be brief (right!). I work in Medical Sales, selling diabetes supplies to patients; however, we are a referral-based company and our "sales" calls are made to healthcare providers. While there is a true beginning to the sales cycle (a cold call), there is no real "close." Looking for help by anyone that may be in a similar situation.

Been a DL user since its conception, but more as a glorified address book. I tried a daylite consultant (not much help), then Amin worked with me for a few hours one day (good help but wasn't ready to implement).

Here's the kicker. I am now managing 12 reps across the USA. We are soon growing to 16 with hopes to be at 30-40 within five years. I have done the original consulting (and the license purchases) on my own dime with the hopes of showing my boss what a phenom Daylite can be to our entire workforce. Currently I have 7/12 reps using personal Macs and 3 of us are fairly tech-savvy. I bought 3 licenses so my goal is to get the 3 of us up and running and prove the worth for everyone else.

I have "most" of Daylite down - all but the important stuff. Because there is no "end" to our cycle, I am struggling with the setup of projects/opportunities.

We call on healthcare providers. Usually, we have to set up an appointment and make a presentation (free lunch for the office - scam!). So far, I see this as an opportunity. However, the office may refer a patient right away, they may do it tomorrow, they may never do it. What I thought was setting each New Account Call as an opportunity, then once the "presentation" is made, move it to projects. In projects, that org. moves from new account/referring account/good account/solid account/key account as they send more and more referrals. Am I on the right track?

We get our list of referrals in an excel spreadsheet daily and it would be nice to get that info into DL. At a glance, I could see if Dr. Jones has sent 4 this month or none, and whether he is trending up or down from the last few months. Was thinking about putting this in the org's extra fields or using Priority for last month's number of referrals.

I have so many more questions but I will leave it at that for now (I tried to be brief, I swear). Oh, except one more thing. Can I set up the other two people to connect/sync with my personal iMac and be assured that they cannot access the rest of my personal information?

Signed, not ready for a consultant but hope to pay one big bucks someday to train the whole team.

Contact me anytime. Now that I've let three of my teammates begin using DayLite, it's not just me that's frustrated, it's the three of them as well.

Again, I know the raw power lies inside Opportunities and Projects, I just can't figure out how to apply to our industry. Let me know if you can help! Thanks!!!
