This is a beta report. What do you like, dislike, etc. All feedback welcome.

This report lets you specify a date range, and shows you the total time spent, and total dollar value of unbilled and billed slips in that range, listed by category.

Thx,

adam

How about a report that is a monthly statement of account for a particular or group of clients? I don't know about everyone else, but I'm not as concerned on what I spent time on last month as much as who owes me money now and how much. Would be much easier to generate statements from Billings as opposed to going to an accounting program and get into the old double entry problem. Food for thought.

Adam,

Maybe it's just my bad habit but I don't really use the "Category" option that much. Most of my slips are still set to "none" and this report doesn't see them. I would prefer if it listed by Client instead of Category. Overall, it is along the basis I was asking for.

Thanks.

This is good, except it needs to include slips that don't have a catagory assigned to them

Unfortunately not possible with this incarnation of it... but a good point.

Adam,

Will it work if I add my own or rename the current categories? I don't particularly like the ones there now.

Yes this report will work no matter what your categories are called.

Cheers,

This is good.

But I support Chris Brown's comments 1 and 2 above. As a general comment, the reports often seem to lack totalling of columns. Is this difficult to do?

hi,
good report.
I'd also appreciate totals and just wondered, how to create alternating row-backgrounds (every second row has a light grey background.. like the posts in this forum) Does anybody know, how to do that?
Thanks.

This doesn't seem to be including time from slips that were started before the specified date range but worked on in that period

I'm having a problem as well. The time for only one of the three projects I worked on yesterday is showing up (the one showing up was started yesterday). As Chris said, I'm only getting the time from slips that were created during the time frame I'm asking for. Example, If I ask for a report from June 7 to June 10, I don't get any info from projects I worked on during those dates if the working slip was created before June 7th. The other problem is, for those slips that were created during that period, I'm also getting the time I spent on June 11 & 12, even thought I requested my report to stop on June 10.

One last problem, if I run a report on today's date only, I get a blank report. The page only shows my Categories but is otherwise blank, no times show up, not even 00:00

Indeed, the report was looking for slips that were created within the date range, not "worked on." Our engineering team is at WWDC right now, but when we get back we will revise the report as per some of the suggestions above, and release an update. Also, we will include the revised/finished report in the next update to Billings.

In addition, I should mention that I am looking into modifying the report to show the same totals by client, but again that will have to wait until after WWDC.

Thanks for your patience, and keep the suggestions coming!

It's nice to deal with a company that actually listens to it's users. Thanks Adam.
