Hi. I started using Billings at the beginning of this year, until I had a computer issue that wiped out all my stuff. Most of my pertinent info was saved, and my invoices are saved as PDF files, so I'm not completely without records. But I was wondering if there was any way to retrieve the lost info so I could run reports off of Billings at the end of the year. I don't know where the information is saved when I plug it into Billings, so I'm not sure where to start. At the very least, if I could import the invoice details from the PDF files, it would be a big help. If anyone has had any experience with this sort of thing, I'm all ears. (And before anyone says it, I've since made arrangements to run a backup disk on everything from now on) ;-)
Thanks for any help anyone can offer! Jon |

Billings data is stored in the directory:
User/Library/Application Support/Billings/Database If you reinstalled Billings and it didn't find the the database then it probably isn't there. You can also search for a file named "billings.bid". You won't be able to import data from the PDF's as they are images. Reentering the information can be cumbersome if there's a lot but at least you'll be able to report on it and also have it on hand/in the database as you continue to use Billings. Best of luck! |

That's what I figured. I did check and it looks like the database was lost. Ah well. I'm running a backup drive on a regular basis now, so if my machine crashes again I'll know where to look. Thanks for the assist! :-)
