I realize this has been much-discussed but I just can't seem to get this solved myself using any of the techniques employed by other users.
So, I customized an estimate template to my liking, then converted it to an invoice. Everything works perfectly, except for when the client has already paid a retainer (which is the case 80% of the time). I check the "Apply Retainer of xx" box when creating the invoice. The non-customized invoices show a line below the taxes with the retainer & amount (lovely), but my customized invoice does not! (It does, however, calculate the correct amount, which is nice.) How can I get that line with the retainer amount to display? I don't mind if I have to put it on all my invoices, regardless of whether or not there is a retainer, but I think it definitely needs to be in there! Thanks in advance... this has been making me insane for two weeks. Am just starting to switch over from Quickbooks to Billings. |

It's a specially table that displays this information. You can grab it from another invoice template and drag it into your custom one.
So open up your invoice, open up one of the default invoice templates and place them side by side. If you hold "option" and drag the bottom tax table over with your mouse you can move it over to your custom invoice. Then all you need to do is apply your font and color scheme to it. |
