I am having an issue with numbers when i set up an Invoice.
Example for a New Slip: Price $40 Quantity: 2 Subtotal: $80 Discount: 10% Total: $72. I'd like to be able to see in the Table & the Invoice, the original Price ($40), the subtotal ($80) and the Total ($72). But right now, it shows the Price & Subtotal already discounted. If I send this to a client, it needs to show there has been an original price & a discount. Is this a bug or is there some settings I missed? Thank you |

This is by design. If you edit the invoice template itself, or make a new one, you can actually pull out "tokens" for price WITH and price WITHOUT discount, individually, and arrange them however you'd like.
We decided to hide markup and discount so that generally customers would see their final price, but you could include the appropriate markup and discount for your own reporting. HTH, adam |

Can you make it an option in the preferences which way this behavior functions? I'm trying to switch it around right now also but dont really know how the "tokens" work. I think a lot of designers would like it to work the way Biz describes above and don't want to have to recode the program to make it work. It was hard enough to get a template that is at all presentable!

Hello Adam,
thank you for the response, but I do not know what the "tokens" are. When I go to my template: I tried to edit the dynamic text "subtotal" (which path is "parent.reportData.object.subtotalPlusMarkupMinusDiscount") by taking off the "PlusMarkupMinusDiscount" part. This doesnt work: it tells me "this class is not key value coding-compliant, etc..." Please, let me know what "tokens" are. thank you |

It seems like yet again the Market Circle staff has left a thread like this hanging.
I would LOVE to know the answer to this but it seems that a final answer was never given (again). Someone from the Market Circle team (or anyone else who knows the answer) PLEASE reply! PS. I am referring to the problem that "biz" has with "parent.reportData.object.subtotal". I too have the same problem. |

Here is a work around for those of you who also want an answer to this (or at least a work around
You will need to have the following 3 tokens in your dynamic text field. Slip Subtotal parent.reportData.object.subtotalPlusMarkupMinusDiscount Slip Markup parent.reportData.object.derivedMarkupTotal Slip Discount parent.reportData.object.derivedDiscountTotal You need to check the "Evaluate entire text as mathematical expression" box checked (bottom right) Then do the math with the tokens... Slip Subtotal - Slip Markup + Slip Discount That will give you the real subtotal and not the "subtotalPlusMarkupMinusDiscount" crap that it does by default. Hope that helps! Post if you have any other questions. Sorry I didn't answer the question about tokens this time, it's late and I'm tired |

I'll just add my voice - I too need to show the price before discount, the amount of discount and the final totals.
Preferably without having to re-code! |
