Hello there,
Today I have been unable to import a client from Daylite into Billings, in order to create an invoice. Billings seemed to be being selective about the clients available to import. There was Jonathan Woods in my Daylite contacts list but Billings couldn't see him. I tried restarting my mac and both programmes, still the same problem. I'm not sure, but I think Billings may have developed a blind spot for clients starting with the letter J. Has anyone else had this problem? I'd welcome any feedback or advice. I managed a workaround by exporting the daylite contact into the MAc address book, and bringing him in to Billings from there. However this seperates my contact from his linked Appointments which would be a real obstacle if the problem carried on. Kind regards, and thanks for this excellent software, Daylite. Gill Keeley |

Hi Gill
Currently, the Daylite importer requires that the contact in Daylite has an email address. We are looking at how to address this in a future release. Does the contact in question have a proper email address in Daylite? Thanks, adam |

Hello Adam
O there we go, he didn't. Many thanks for your advice. Daylite & Billings are making a big difference to my quality of life, as our graphics business grows. It's like having a pleasant, effective office manager without having to employ someone. I'm looking forward to learning more as time goes on about how to use your software to it's fullest extent. Thank you. Gill Keeley |

Billings won't 'see' any contacts from Daylite at all. Sees them from address book, no problem, I just get no contacts showing up at all from Daylite. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks

The client probably doesn't have an email address. That is the most likely cause of a client not showing up in the window when trying to add from Daylite.

Thank you for your help. Unfortunately I see no contacts at all showing up from Daylite, irrespective of whether they have an email or not.
When I click 'New Client' in Billings, the box opens showing all my address book contacts. If I select the option to import from Daylite, no contacts show at all in the box. My address book contacts are all in Daylite, so they should show? |

Hi Stuart
Did you search for someone? The From Daylite pop-up choice requires that you search for a contact or organization. HTH adam |

I have no problems importing a client from DL into Billings however I cannot import an organization from DL into Billings.
Any ideas? |

I presume the problem is probably the same as it is for the other people in the thread trying to add contacts: if there is no e-mail address, Billings doesn't recognize it when you do the search. My organizations don't have e-mail addresses defined, and I don't see any of them when I do a search. |

Billings seems to be temperamental for me importing clients in from DayLite - like others, Address book is just fine. But when I choose Daylite, I get nothing, even when I am not searching for anyone. (I did get it working yesterday - but not today)!

Hi,
I am in the same boat, excpet that I also tried to send a project to Billings from within DL and the project had no organisation linked, only 2 contacts, both with an email address, yet BIllings throws up a dialog box to choose an existing BIllings contact. When I have no contact selected in the available popup list (there are only 5 test contacts in there) and then click on 'continue', Billings crashes... hrmmmmmm... |

Chris T,
Your issue is fixed in the next release of Billings. In the mean time, please select a client in the Billings Client picker sheet. Eric |
