Does anyone know how to synchronize Daylite contacts with Address Book and iCal, so that the contacts and appointments are available to other applications. You suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Just to add more discussion:
I found out that if Daylite supported Sync Services, then several programs, cell phones and PDA's out there could take advantage of Daylite and synchronize. |

And that is exactly what they are working on.
For now Daylite will synchronize with the Addressbook but not iCal. For iCal you can export your Daylite calendar and open it in iCal, but it's not a "synch". Regards, Howard |

Howard:
Any idea on when Sync Services will be supported? Thanks, SA |

SA,
I only have the same info that everyone here has - that it was originally hoped that it would be ready by now. I'm afraid we all have to sit tight and hope for the best. I do know that Marketcircle is working quite seriously on it, so maybe the day is near. It appears to be quite a tricky thing to iron out. Regards, Howard |

This is the one thing that's stopping me buy a licence. Any more updates?

Hello
I am with Andy on this one. I LOVE the softwre, DayLite, DMI and Billings and am using all three. I just learned that they wil not synch with Apple's Synch services. I have been using RIM's Blackberry synch (junk software IMHO) and found another Blackberry synch software out there that taps Apple's synch. That one is reportedly more stable and functional. I cannot use it until DayLite can use the base functions in Mac OS X. I need to synch between my Mac and phone(s) either a Motorola (synchs with Apple's Synch) or another phone like Blackberry. It would be nice to hear some official word from MarketCirrcle. Joe |

In this thread, Adam from Marketcircle provides the latest word on development re: SyncServices.

I am with Andy and Joe! I would love to use Daylite, it's the best CRM software I have found except that it doesn't synch with my phone! As I am out and about alot it's really important for me to have that facility. I can't wait for sync services to be available. |

I eventually bought my licence on the assurance from Market Circle that those sync services were coming. They even used the word 'soon' closely after the word 'coming', as in right after.
Again on assurances that BB syncing was 'just around the corner' I decided a Blackberry was for me. Having discovered what Joe discovered - Pocket Mac for BB is not, well, enough said, let's just leave it as 'is not'- I found a workaround by exporting stuff from Daylite into iCal manually and syncing with address book and then using Missing Sync to do the rest. Surely this was only the short-term solution? Surely? While it works, to a degree, it is fidly, time consuming and utterly opposed to what Daylite stands for. It also means that a lot of functionality and info available in Daylite gets left behind. While not essential, some of this stuff would be a nice touch if it came across onto the handheld. So come on Market Circle - where are the sync services. Promises, promises, promises. In a corporate setting, I'm sure Daylite isn't expensive, but for those of us starting up in business, who can see the potential and benefit of this app, it's a fair chunk of cash to fork out, especially when one of the most vital parts of its potential - syncing with iCal and therefore, via dot mac - to other machines/people doesn't work. So how about delivering on some of those promises? Or even just two of them for starters - Sync with iCal and Blackberry? This message has been edited. Last edited by: Andy White, |

Hi Andy
As we've reiterated many, many times (and I'm sorry to have to do it again), we're working on Sync Services and when we are confident, we'll release it. We don't want to take chances with your data. Again, sorry for the delay--I truly am, but we don't want to compromise your data's integrity and your user experience with a half-baked solution. Thanks, adam |

I hear you Adam, but it seems to be taking a long time - a very long time - for you guys to get confident, and you must appreciate that there are those of us out here beginning to wonder if we'll ever see that feature at all, and given the promises made - to me at least (though I'm sure I'm not alone) - that they will arrive soon - you'd forgive me - and others - for losing patience and wanting - at some stage - my/our money back. You have to understand how vital syncing is for a large part of your customer base?

I understand completely. We realize just how important it is... especially with the impending release of the iPhone. Sync Services support is coming, and I do understand your frustration. What can I say except we are working on it, and implore you to please continue to be patient.
It's sooner than you think adam |
