Mailplaneapp Plugin/integration with Daylite CRM

I’m starting this thread in hopes that others Daylite user will recognize how helpful a Mailplaneapp-Daylite plugin or integration scheme would be. Additional information is included in this post since I’m creating a similar thread on the Mailplaneapp google group (http://groups.google.com/group/mailplaneapp?hl=en)

In addition to Daylite, an indispensable tool in our day to day workflow is an email client called Mailplaneapp (http://mailplaneapp.com/). A fine developer named Ruben Bakker has created a Mac based gmail client that integrates wonderfully with the OS X operating system and maintains the best part of Gmail, the conversation view and labels.

We love the Daylite Mail integration module, but it has been simultaneously a tremendous help and a source of frustration. Since the threading function in mail is no substitute for conversation view, we use Apple Mail for integration purposes (e.g. creating new contacts from emails, logging relevant incoming and outgoing email to contacts, etc) but all other email tasks are handled via Mailplaneapp.

I would love to see and find very helpful a process that would duplicate the functionality of the Daylite/ Apple Mail integration between Mailplaneapp and Daylite:

• creation of new contacts in Daylite from email in Mailplaneapp
• creation of outgoing mail in Mailplaneapp from various “send email” functions in Daylite.
• logging of those outgoing email in Daylite to the related contact
• logging incoming email to related contacts


I realize that to an extent the mailplaneapp URLs can be used, but even that relatively straight forward process can become quite tedious with heavy email usage. Obviously, having the actual text of the email imported into Daylite from Mailplaneapp would be perfect. I guess I’m requesting “DMI2”.

I’m hoping that both Daylite developers and Mailplaneapp developers will try both apps and see the benefits of integrating these to great applications.
