I can't sync up Daylite with my Blackberry without butchering my data on both ends because PocketMac for Blackberry is a miserable excuse for software.
With PocketMac out of the picture for most of us, there's no way for us to synchronize data between Daylite and our Blackberrys. Why not create a plug-in for DayLite that will let us sync directly with an open source enterprise server, Funambol (http://funambol.com/) over an internet connection? It's all based on an open standard, sync4j, developed for syncing mobile devices with PIMs, no proprietary "secret sauce" here. A typical usage scenario: - User syncs daylite contacts, tasks and calendar with a Funambol server over the internet. - User syncs Blackberry with Funambol server over the internet. If the user loses access to Daylite or his/her Blackberry, there's still a copy of the user's data on Funambol server out on the web. I'd write the thing myself, but I don't know enough about writing native apps for OS X. I've never begged for anything, but I'm making an exception. I've owned DayLite and a Blackberry together for four months and can't sync my data. Please. Do the right thing. |
