I loved the idea of Daylite Delivery so much that I paid for before even trying it. Unfortunately, after paying $99.00, I have a program that does not seem to function.

First, my license displays in black print with an out dated expiration date. Prior to downloading the most recent version of Daylite (3.7 Build 1532) and the most recent version of Daylite Delivery (1.0.2), the licensed displayed the same outdated expiration date but in red letters.

Secondly, when I set up a report to run in Daylite, and press the Test Link, nothing happens. I can't even get it to send a report when scheduled.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to proceed?

I am now able to get Daylite Delivery to work occasionally by pressing Test Run but it will not send based on the set schedule. And, it doesn't always work when I press Test Run.

I am having the same problem. Does anyone have a solution or a workaround? It seems irresponsible to sell a product like this that doesn't work.

Hi Guys,

that makes three of us. Same issue with me. Luckily I have downloaded the demo version.

I have schedule 3 task and so far no report was sent out to my email I have tried my .Mac email as well as 1 hotmail account and our corporate account. Delivery did not deliver to any of the soecified mailboxes.

I have no idea why and also no idea on how to changes any settings (besides the setting in Preference under Delivery...)

Hope that someone comes up with a solution soon because I like the idea of Delivery and would buy the moment it works...

Hi all,

Can you please send us your Daylite Delivery log files to review.
You can do this by opening a 'Finder' window and navigating to Hardrive -> Library -> Logs.

The file you need to send is called "DayliteDelivery.log".

Send the logs to support@marketcircle.com, and in the subject field, please insert your names.

Hi all,

My apologies for the delay in responding to this. Our Engineers are working on an update that addresses some of the security functions in Leopard. Keep a look out on our downloads page for the latest version.

I'm having the same problem today, but didn't see a demo download, so I just paid for it. Now it won't work. I am using Daylite in a mixed Tiger/Leopard work group. What I don't understand is when you setup the auto reports, what's the difference between the blank field where you type in an email address, and the "user" field (I'm using a Task Due Today select User" report. I'm assuming that you type in the address of the person who will "receive" the report, and select the "user" pulldown to choose the user report that will be sent.

That's exactly it.

The report will be sent to those email addresses.

Where as the selecting user is actually associated with or a part of the the report itself, it has nothing to do with the Daylite Delivery program. For this specific report you can select user to report on.

Hi all,

I have some news...

We've released a beta of Daylite Delivery 1.1. This version is Leopard only (for now). There are some important instructions to read in order to use this beta. Please read below...

Here are the details for the Beta

If you have installed the Previous 1.0.x version
================================================
You have to uninstall the old preference pane to run the new dedicated app (if you installed that to begin with):
1) Go to System Preferences -> Daylite Delivery and *stop* the (delivery) server
2) Go to HD -> Library -> PreferencePanes and delete Daylite Delivery.prefPane
3) Go to HD -> Library -> LaunchDaemons and delete daylite.plist

Once you download the new app, put it in your /Applications folder and add it to you launch items (Delivery menu -> Starts at Launch is a convenience)

Changes since Beta 1
====================
1) Added a little warning sign (triangle) that shows when the reports run has encountered some kind of problem. Shows right next to the "go to" arrow (which opens the core log). You reset this sign turning the server off and on again.
2) Added "Send test email" menu item (sends a test email to the admin via the same settings as reports get sent).
3) Added "Send log files" menu item (similar to the functionality in Daylite)
4) Added "Run reports now" menu item (forces the polling and running of reports immediately)
5) Added "Open Core Log" menu item
6) Added "Open Admin Log" menu item
7) Changed the database polling to every 3 minutes. First poll is 3 minutes after running the server (you can force an immediate send by using the new "Run Reports Now" menu item.
8) Now remembers if you stop the server and relaunch
9) Reports subprocess is blocking now, if a process is running, another cannot start until the first one is finished. The poller will skip that sequence and wait for the next one (in 3 minutes).
10) Changed the download to be a zip instead of a dmg (tell us how you like or dislike that).

Changes for Beta 1
==================
1) No longer a system preferences
2) Uses a new SMTP library and includes support for sending emails over SSL
3) All logs now go to Home -> Library -> Logs -> Daylite -> Delivery
4) Does a bunch of checks (i.e. database username and password) before starting
5) You must keep Daylite Delivery running all the time now

Known issues:
=============
1) Logs files aren't rotated at the right time
2) Resolve Tiger launch issues
3) Subprocess shows in the Dock when running (trying to hide it is proving futile)

Getting reports delivered:
==========================
1) Launch Daylite Delivery and connect to your database if you haven't already done so. (Delivery must run on the same server as the database runs on).
2) Go to Daylite (3.7 and up) -> Preferences -> Daylite Delivery. (delivery pane only shows if Delivery server has run once and connected successfully)
3) Add a report (left side)
4) For that report, add a schedule (right side) and the email addresses you want them delivered to
5) You can hit the "test" button to see if the report will be delivered (takes a few minutes)

If you are not getting reports delivered, check the log files in ~/Library/Logs/Daylite/Delivery/DeliveryCore.log (click on the small "go to" arrow (near the last run date in the Delivery app) as a convenience).

This build does not work on Tiger. We plan to address that shortly.

A new beta has been released...

4) Doing more validation checks when the service is started
5) Added Sparkle support (check for updates)

7) Tries to grab Daylite login and Mail's outgoing preferences on first run (sans passwords)
8) Improved the log rotation mechanism

Another Beta - Daylite Delivery 1.1 beta 5

Changes
=======
1) Move compile/link fixes to solve the issue of not running on PPC machines
2) Added "Save Logs" menu option (for those that don't have Apple Mail setup on their server)

I am confused; I have downloaded the linked file and removed the preference pane, the launch daemon and copied the new application to applications. When I run the application I am required to provide an Admin Username and a corresponding password.

Where do I find the Admin Username please?

I have an account called Daylite Admin but have no idea what the password for that user is, and I have my own user account but new-Delivery rejects that.

I have 13 days left until I can no longer beta test this application for you, so your assistance with this is much appreciated.

Hi Jules,

The Admin username and password would be for an 'Admin' user in Daylite. It may even be you. Check in Daylite/Preferences/Users & Teams. Select your user and see if it is set to be an Admin User. If so, that is the username and password Delivery requires.

Hope this helps,

Aly D.

Thanks for that.

I presume the earlier error was because Daylite itself was not running (maybe updating the DD 1105 error message to a message similar to DMI would be helpful?) therefor DD could not connect to the database?

Who knows, because now I've got a different error. Even though I'm running DL372/1569, DD1105 tells me that the "..version of Openbase (database engine) is too low, please update".

I ran DL menu function DL->Check for Update and I'm current.

Any suggestions?

Jules
