I think a "search" feature in DMI would be very helpful. We run into an inconvenience whenever one contact is linked to many projects/opportunities. Trying to find the project for an email link in the long-long list is cumbersome, and if there was the ability to search by project name - it would help tremendously.

yes, search IN the dmi, but also the ability to link an e-mail to ANYTHING.
Heck, just let us open that search box that the DMI adds to mail, and then drag any item into the mail drawer to add it to the list of things to link the message to. That should do it I think think. The Peat Group, Inc. Macintosh Consulting in the Columbus, Ohio area Daylite Premier Partner |

The ability to add emails to other Daylite objects is desperately needed - the functionality of DMI is significantly reduced without the ability to link to Tasks, Appointments, etc..
Currently, the work around is to create a Daylite project, and link any other necessary resources to it, so it/they are available to DMI.... |

I have the same problem: One contact is linked to several (lots) of projects. The projects are numbered, so when an email comes in I refer to a separate projects list to quickly find the number to link to.
Marketcircle, adding this functionality to Mail would be greatly appreciated! |

I have submitted this feature request some time ago for Daylites Quick Find search right in DMI. The feature where you can link any email to anything in your Daylite database. If you notice the QF feature is already in DMI when you have a contact that is not in DL's database DMI indicates that contact does not exist. DMI has the radio button of Add To Daylite... When you click on this you are actually using Quick Find. It's just to bad that the program only allows you to only select one contact and nothing else.
Right now, the "work around" is to create/save the email to a contact that you don't want (it linked) to or save to a new contact. You then have to click into Daylite to do all your editing of removing the links and adding the links you want your email linked to. Strange DL engineers did not see the need for this during development. |
