Is there a way to edit the fields that are displayed as columns in the project window? It would be handy to be able to see the project code and start date and then sort them in order by those fields

Adam,

I too would like the ability to edit the columns in the project window. I downloaded the Beta on 02 Dec 2006 and have been playing with it. I need the ability to add or change the data, but having worked with and built other data bases I know that requires editing tables and so forth. Here's what I do: I have a carbon copy invoice that goes to the customer's home. Everything is completed and the invoice comes into the office where I have a number (such as 2285, for example) that I would like displayed on Billings invoice. Because I have my own invoices, I use the billings invoice as a batch record that lists each of invoices that I've completed. It is essentially a coversheet, but my invoice nubmers are important because sometimes work is conducted at an apartment complex. I've also noticed that there were other fields that I'd like to rename such as the type of slip being created, or the ability load an invoice number in a custom field on the slip. If you need me to clarify further, please ask. I'm seriously considering purchasing billings as it has provided an easier way to track balances on our many invoices.

Please do add a feature that allows users to customize the sort columns. It's something that I would really like to have.

Thanks,

Rob

Ping - me too. Both for displaying and sorting reasons. Also, as mentioned in other threads, two new columns in the project view that would also be extremely useful would be..

1- uninvoiced sum(total)
2- uninvoiced sum(quantity)

Love the app!

I agree this would be a huge benefit both for projects and slips... and any other windows that has columns really!

Yeh, gotta do this.
Think about it - a grid control that doesn't allow you to select the columns that are displayed.

it would be great to have a "Billed" column to view which clients you have billed.

Have created a quick mockup of how I see this working at -

http://www.cubamoon.com/billed.jpg

This would be extremely helpful as currently their is no way to tell by looking at project list which projects have been billed or not...

Billed projects do not display anything under pending as do projects that have not yet started projects with no slips. All very confusing and a big pain... if you cant remember if a project has started you need to go into accounts and try and see if an invoice was sent or not.
