Hi Everyone,
Well firstly, I must say that I am so very impressed with Billings. I was told about it by a fellow mac enthusiast, and immediately I knew this was the perfect program for our business. We send invoices and statements all the time, and wanted a really professional looking way to do this, as well as to be able to send them by email - and of course, Billings is perfect in this regard. My question today is whether there is a way that I haven't already seen or thought about, to create a note that can be sent to the customer, and stored on the system as an invoice or a statement. Specifically, we are wedding photographers, and so we would like to add the shipping information into the Billings system. We want to method shipped, the date, and the tracking number all to be stored, but also to be sent to the customer. I have thought perhaps the most professional looking way to do this would be to create a new invoice, that isn't called an invoice, but rather has a title more like "shipping information" and then to add a blank slip with a note containing the information. Are there any other ideas? Do you think this would work well? Thanks! Al |

A note is a good way to store it per project and then the best way to show it on the invoice would be to copy that note data into the comments field when you create the invoice.

Hi There, Thanks for the idea. The trouble with that, is that I don't have another invoice item at that point. The customer is paid in full, thus I need to find another way to record the shipping information and tell the customer. |

We built the system to send out invoices, estimate s and statements. We didn't design it to send out notes or letters.
I was trying to think of a way to fudge it, but I couldn't come up with something. The best we can do is to send out a statement and use the "comment" area to say something. |
