I have a merchant account and I have a payment form on my website. I am stumped on how to include a Pay Now button on a Billings invoice that would include the invoice number and more important the amount due.

Any ideas???

That's a good one. We are going to have to think about this one.

The problem is that the hyperlink attribute is being lost during the generation process.

At first glance, we are not sure if that is because of the way we are doing something or if it's the way we are calling Apple's PDF stuff.

Can you send me an example of what you did prior to Billings?

Thanks.

AJ,

In the past, I have used the following line in a merged letter (from within DayLite)

https://enochbenjamin.com/pay/now.php?InvoiceID=10079&ID=188

but this requires double data entry - i have a custom field in daylite with CustomerID & Invoice ID, and i have the same fields in a mysql database.

what i thought would be nice is if billings could send the invoice details to a payment page so i could eliminate the need for the mysql db.

Alternatively, a Pay now by PayPal / Google CHeckout would be handy if people wanted that.

I would be inclined to use it if it existed.

I would also agree that paypal/google checkout would be good. Any option that nudges a client to "pay now" is a good thing!

Payment Plugins

A while back I tried an online invoice service called FreshBooks (hey - they are based in Toronto too!).

FreshBooks has the payment modulule that works perfectly - maybe the Marketcircle crew should look at how they do it. You can pay with PayPal or a merchant account.

If Billings can accept payments i think it would be a much better option that a service like FreshBooks.

The flaw with any online service is that it complicates things for your customers. Now they are getting emails and invoices from a third party and my experience with business owners tells me this will cause problems, so i am hoping that Billings can incorporate some sort of payments processing.

:-)

+1 for PayPal integration. That would be an amazing feature!

Including a link for the Pay now page in the invoice will work for pdf's.

This is the best option at the moment.

I’m a little stuck on adding the link to the pdf. Where do I go to do that? I tried to create a design with the Pay Now image built-in to it, but there is no option I can find that will allow me to insert a link. The only reference I could find to links in the documentation was for adding links to a project. I tried that, but the links don’t end up showing on the invoice. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
