Hi there, I would like to use billings for both my personal work and business activities, but I cannot do this because at the moment it's set up with my personal information.
Is there a way to manage multiple identities? It would be really useful. Thank you. |

Appearantly the identity information is taken from your AddressBook.
I suspect that if you add a new account to OSX, you will be able to select a new identity. If so, login in as a different user would do the trick. |

As Tyck! has said, Billings currently does not support multiple identities. You can however use that trick of having different OSX accounts to achieve what you're looking for, one for personal and one for work.

This is very unfortunate as I also would like to be able to bill from multiple companies. The workaround seems a little overkill just to be able to bill from different companies. Creating a separate OS X user account just to accommodate a piece of software is silly at best.
I really like how the trial of Billings has functioned so far but I must admit that this might be a deal breaker for me. When (if ever) can we expect this feature to be added to Billings? Could the development team perhaps create an AppleScript of bash script that would swap out mutiple folders so that could be used in the meantime? |

rooSwitch might already get you a little bit closer to having multiple identities: rooSwitch
You would still have only one contact group in your address book, meaning you would always see the other's identities contacts. Best, i |

You can use a different invoice template - in the template, remove the dynamic identity fields and replacement them with hard coded text and images.
This will give you a different identity in terms of invoices - but it will keep all clients and account info together (not a bad thing). A bunch of our customers do this in Europe - where the language on the invoice is different for some of their customers. |

Thinking about this some more - it would already be very helpful to specify a data directory, instead of only having one default (this would also allow to easily use encrypted disk images).
Throw in a configurable addressbook group, and we're a big step closer. |
