Nothing against the payment screen it looks great however it is REALLY hard to find an invoice as they are either labeled by invoice number or as Payment... It would be much easier to find an invoive be project name!
Curently their are 3 columns bith no column headings so new users have no idea what the total columsn are for... It would be great if these columns had column headers with the option to right click and add aditional columns such as the comment above... e.g. "Project" column. This way I can more easily find and invoice. Better yet is their no way to combine invoice and payments into 1 screen... rather messy simply dumping everything in a list. makes the list double as long.. payments are obviously associated with and invoice so ideally you should just display invoices in the list. Clicking on an invoice would then display the invoice with a perhaps a button to view the receipt. What is he point of receipts anyway here.. can t print them anyway. Payed invoices get a big "PAID" stamp on them anyway not to mention the "paid" description the 3rd colum in the account list. So whats up with that??? This message has been edited. You have a good point about how difficult it is to find an invoice for a specific project. We should probably work on making that easier.
One thing you must realize though, is that invoices are not necessarily for only one project. Billings allows you to send an invoice involving multiple projects. Payment can also apply to more than one invoice. So the solution you suggested may not be flexible enough to accommodate these situations. The account list is meant to be a chronological listing of the transactions with a client. That is why invoices and payments, as well as retainers, statements, and estimates show up there. Getting back to the issue you raised - do you generally look for you invoices based on project? What is your use case in which you want to find an invoice based on what project it is part of? Thanks for your feedback. |
