On occassion, I may not charge a customer for work that I have done for them. However, I need to be able to show/remind them of the value of the free services that I have performed for them.
The way that I do that, traditionally, is to have a line item for the full hours worked, at the full rate, then show the number of free/discounted hours and credit that amount back. It makes the most sense to me to be able to do that in the Working Slip. The Working Slip presently offers the ability to show a discount in the form of a percentage. (This does not work for me.) I am requesting, here, a new feature wherin I am able to show that discount in the form of hours and then be able to clearly show that discount in the invoice layout that I create (i.e. pass and make the variable available in the layout). that is, unless someone else has come up with a way to simulate this. |

I also have this need. I would like to be able to discount by a lump sum also without having to futz around figuring out what that lump sum is in terms of percentages.
