I send my client a bill at the beginning of the month for a block of support time that they draw from for the remainder of the month.
At the end of the month, I invoice them for the actual time spent, and apply the retainer to the invoice. If the invoice is over the retainer amount, the balance becomes payable. No problem. However, when the invoice is less than the retainer, there is residual retainer. The agreement I have with my client is such that if they don't use it, they lose it. So, does anyone have any solutions? I thought I would use a timed estimate slip for the block of time at the beginning of the month, but I need to show that block of time as income. I need to provide a statement at the end of the month that they can use to invoice their clients. I'm stumped. Please help. Thanks! Bruce |
