Hi. I have a one-man operation, and I just started playing around with the Billings program for my invoices. I noticed the mention of Expenses on the program, and I was wondering if there is a way to keep a running tally of expenses for my own records and taxes. These wouldn't be billed to clients, just purely for my own records throughout the year. I'm just beginning to start utilizing the program, so any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. If I'm asking a dumb questions, go easy on me. :-)
Thanks! Jon |

I'm not sure if Billings is quite meant for that, but you could record that info in "your" client page, meaning the projects within your name in the client list.
You'd have to test, but you could set the type to 'expense', and get totals, and maybe make some categories. |

Thanks for the response. I kind of figured that was the case. I bought it for the invoicing aspect, and so far it's working out nicely. When I saw the word "expenses" come up, I figured it was worth seeing if there was a way to make that work to my advantage.

Yes, I would totally use the "star" client (Me) for that if an expense is not connected to a project. Makes sense to me anyway...
Note that you can also flag it as "For my eyes only" instead of "Billable". |
