I have requested this feature many months ago!... Any idea when we can expect this feature?

I have the same needs as most people here:

Yearly hosting
Monthly maintenance contracts

I'm another one who would benefit from automated recurring invoicing. I offer a service that is billed yearly on the sign up date, which is different for each client.

I'd also love to see tighter iCal integration with regards to overdue invoices. Right now there's no alert system for overdue invoices.

We can't provide any timelines but we'd very much like to have this feature in Billings.

Yes, we too have monthly and quarterly reoccurring billing for pre-arranged service/support, so this would be helpful. Especially if tied into iCal.
In addition, as many have mnetioned, it would be great to have an easy way to get Billings records into QuickBooks Mac.

Brandon and the rest of the Market Circle team,

It's been nearly a year now since you asked the user-base if we would use an automated invoicing feature with Billings and as you can tell by the three page thread many people got a little excited about the prospect that you had decided to get moving with it (or so we thought). The response seemed to tell you that small web hosts and web design companies (as well as other industry) would really love this feature and I am sure there are at least twenty people to every one who bothered to post that pretty much need it integrated into Billings to start using it properly. In fact I bought Billings because it looked like you were going to impliment this feature over the coming months but it looks like you have shelved it. Please say it isn't so!

Anyway, I and many others were wondering if you have anything positive to tell us at all regarding automated invoicing?

I sincerely hope that I am the only paid user who has waited a year so far that is a little disappointed in the fact that I couldn't move my entire company's billing and invoicing over to Billings because of the omission of such an obvious and important feature as recurring billing.

It seems that Market Circle is putting all of their combined energy into Daylite and leaving the Billings users hanging waiting for important and obvious features.

Come on guys, please it's time for the good news.

Just want to add my voice to request this feature. I'm surprised I missed this thread before as I've been using Billings for almost a couple of years now and this is my most-wanted feature. I actually logged on now just to see if there were any posts on the subject.

I'm yet another web developer who also has hosted clients, and its these that form the main part of my requirement for this feature.

Keeping track of renewal dates for these is one of my least favourite aspects of my work, and it's becoming more and more necessary for me to integrate them better with my ad-hoc billing, to the extent that I am considering switching to alternative software if I can find one than meets all my requirements. Hopefully I won't need to and Billings will incorporate this feature sooner rather than later, as it's otherwise a fantastic little application. smile

Yes Me too. It's not as if the billings team seem to care about this feature. All I see is miniscule response. We don't even get to hear if they are working on adding it.

Strange though. If you can only really bill for products and time and not regular services then there is a whole area of many industries that are not supported. Web designers who host, web hosts, Mac based IT maintenance companies, Anyone with annual or monthly contracts to support.

A company that makes an app as good as Daylite should not sully their reputation by badly supporting the customers of their other products.

If you find a good alternative let me know please.

Hi

I have been waiting for this feature since version 1 of billings ! ! I am a systems administrator who sends out a lot of invoices to customers monthly and yearly. Like an earlier post, I am using iCal to email me when the invoices need to be sent out but it would be a lot better if this was automated, or at least just click a button for the software to create all the invoices.

Looking for help in how to invoice hours worked separately from a monthly retainer. i.e. I have a client that pays $500 at the beginning of every month to contract for a set number of hours and get a discounted rate. I track the hours I work each month. When I invoice them for the $500 retainer I want to show how many hours and what projects I worked on for them last month. If I work more than the hours contracted, the invoice should calculate the additional time and bill for extra hours. If I don't work as many hours as they contracted for, the invoice should show a credit which will apply against next month's retainer. Is there a way to do this now with Billings 3?

Right now the invoice is adding the recurring amount to the individual slips. I can set the hourly rate to $0, but then I have to manually figure out how many hours I need to credit the client or bill in addition each month which is unwieldy. I was hoping the software could track that for me. I'm a newbie so would appreciate it if someone has figured this out!
