Hello, just trying Billings 2 demo ad it looks promising.One thing is odd though I couldn't find a way to have Billings display the proper dateformat on an invoice template. It displays US dateformat even though my system is set to german dates. Is there any way to change this?
thanks, thomas

Hi Thomas

To change the date format on an invoice, you'll have to edit the invoice template itself.

If you already have your own special template, Choose Design > Edit Template... and open the style whose date forma tyou want to change. Or, if you want to make your own version of one of the built-in templates, choose Design > New Invoice... and select one of the built-in styles as a basis for your own template.

Once you're editing the template, double-click on the text area that contains the date token. In built-in templates, you'll probably be able to see a blue "pill" with the words [SLIP DATE] in it; double-click that area if you want to change the date format for individual slips. The same procedure would apply to any date token: Invoice date, due date, etc.

A dynamic text editing sheet will open, from where you can select the [SLIP DATE] (or other date field), and choose a formatter (the way in which the date will be shown) from the bottom right area of the sheet. Click OK to close the sheet, and then save the changes to the template.

It seems as though it may be wise for us to automatically handle date formats, so we'll definitely review that at our next design meeting.

HTH,

adam

I believe that the solution provided will work; also, we intend to make this more transparent and easier in the UI. Hopefully no customization of this sort will be required in the final version of Billings 2.

Thx,

adam

Hi there !

Thomas, what is the syntax you use exactly ?
I try CustomDate -> DD/MM/YY
but in my invoice, I see DD/MM/YY and not the date smile

Moin,
I just used the "short date" format. It seems to have a bit of a problem to accept the change of the format (it kept switching back to "no formatter" for me ...) but simply adding a new date variable with the short date format did the trick for me.
