I have been using Billings for a few months now and I've now decided to try out Daylite as I need the more powerful tools. I already have several, clients, projects and time slips in Billings, items I wish to make available in Daylite. The integraton guide only coverts Daylite -> Billings, not the other way around. How do I do this?
I have the most recent version of both installed. |

After looking into some KB articles and movies, I thought this would work.
1. Recreate all clients in Daylite 3 2. Recreate all projects in Daylite 3 3. Add clients to Billings and link them to Daylite 3, importing the projects you made in (2). 4. Send my working slips to Daylite 3 as tasks 5. In Daylite 3, link these tasks to the projects I created in step (2) 6. Update the project in Billings, getting tasks for Daylite Result: The time for each slip is totally whacked. Obviously a bug. The reason? Simple! Daylite doesn't retain the timeslip information, it is lost, so it uses start and end times to calculate the total time taken. This means that you can't get your existing time slips into Daylite, manage them there and still have them as you expect in Billings. Now this would make sense if you could keep regular tasks in Daylite, and only have your time slips in Billings but it seems that as soon as I update my project in Billings, which is linked to a client/project in Daylite, all tasks I've made in Daylite are imported as slips again which is very annoying. I'd really like to use Daylite but this is so erratic, not smooth at all. Can you please improve this? This message has been edited. Last edited by: solipsist, |

Another issue I just found: With what I did in order to link my Billings projects with Daylite 3 (recreated them in Daylite), it doesn't seem like I can actually move the payments and retainer records to the new projects like I did with the time slips...
