Here's what I'd like to see changed in Billings:
When adding / editing a Timed slip - I would like to be able to put in the amount of time I want (NOT adding to the existing total). I find that I need to change this number and it is impossible to reduce the number (without deleting the slip and creating a new slip with correct lower amount of time) and inconvenient to increase. When adding a Quantity slip - it defaults to a quantity of 0 - a default of 1 would make much more sense. Allow me to change the order of slips - drag up or down. I like to group labor charges and parts (quantity) charges. Be able to choose address for a client (work / home). I do work for clients for their work & personal. My address book card shows Work & Home addresses but it seems to default to first address on card. The ability to add a Paid stamp. I very often take payment at job and then send invoice / receipt of payment after the fact. I now create invoice & add watermark (using Adobe Acrobat). A multiple step process - it would be great if I could do it all in Billings. |

You can change the time on a slip, without erasing the entire slip. Billings uses a time "log". Next to "Duration" click on the Log button. This allows you to add and remove time.
I completely agree about the Paid stamp. A pretty red overlay would be great, something that looked like a real stamp. I often get paid before sending out invoices and currently just add their payment as a retainer, applying that retainer towards their invoice. |

I agree with the paid stamp, I cant believe it doesnt have this. I REALLY like this program except I cant use it because of that 1 reason and I ended up buying billable which is not a feature rich but it shows what people owe and client love the big huge paid stamp

I've created a duplicate invoice template that has a paid stamp on it. I also get paid a percentage in advance and this acts a s a receipt, but it would also nice to be able to select a payment and print a receipt.

Thanks for explaining how to change the Time on a slip.
I have been using the Watermark feature on Adobe Acrobat to add the paid stamp. I suggested the paid stamp to the MarketCircle team when I met them at MacWorld. |

Once I enter time in a log--which I currently do by 1. click send to working slip from the calendar, 2. create working slip in Billings, and 3. use timer... how do i DECREASE time on a slip. It seems to only allow me to increase it. Sometimes I make a mistake and need to correct it...
ALSO... can billings information export to Quickbooks? We track all our comapny accounts there. We end up entering it manually. Thanks!!! Pascha

To edit the time for a slip:
1)Double click the slip in a Billings window which will pop up the slip information. 2) Beside Duration, you should see a button called "Log" - click that. 3) You should see a list of entries with Date/Duration. Double click the duration you want to change, then edit the number to the amount of time you want it to be. For the Timeslips window, the option to add columns for Start Time, End Time, and Elapsed Time. Elapsed time is already there.
As someone already mentioned, please make it possible to edit time directly as opposed to +/- times to existing time. Sometimes it's easier to just say... this is the elapsed time. (Start Time and End Time would be some placeholder (e.g., "unspecified") in that case, or perhaps need be filled in as part of the timeslip correction.) Thanks, = Joe = |

Another suggestion:
When you are looking at a project, and have multiple slips selected, the number of slips selected and the total of the slips is shown. It would be handy to also include the pre-tax total as well.
