Is there a way to quickly view what was invoiced or not, what was paid or not?

Yes. In Billings, click Reports - top center or the main Billings window.
A new window will appear, on the left you'll see Clients with a disclosure triangle, click that and you'll see Clients and Unpaid Invoices. Those should give you the data you are looking for.
