I love billings! I own a design & production firm and I find that billings ALMOST meats all of my needs.

Like many billings fans, I am eagerly awaiting a new update with at least a few of the most requested features. (networking, multi-project invoicing)...

maybe just a time frame... like Q4 2008 or something!

Yeah, what's going on? There are a lot of outstanding bugs and feature requests. It would be nice to see them acknowledged and see some feedback about when they might get done.

It's been far too long since the last point release. I'm starting to get annoyed with the lack of communication.

We are working on 2.5.6. Mostly dealing with localization issues. You can get a beta of 2.5.6 from the German section however, English language folks will not see a difference (at least that's the idea).

Sorry to say, but after this length of time with no updates that's not too reassuring. Has Billings development completely stalled?

No, it hasn't stalled. Far from it - we are working hard. But you will not get any promises of dates or features out of us, unless AJ decides it is prudent. It's generally far too risky to make such announcements.

Good news! I really look forward to the next release! There's so much potential in Billings, but some very annoying things which requires workarounds. I really hope you can manage to get an invoice number list view (finding invoices by invoice numbers would be a lot easier) and itemized discounts and taxes on the printed invoice a part of the updated version. Also a way to issue contra invoices would really help (standard in all serious accounting/billing applications.)
