I generally charge a daily rate rather than hourly and I want to be able to invoice by the day. I know I could work round this by putting in 8hrs or by using quantity rather than time, but then I can't use my usual format of 'X days on Y project (dates)'.

Is there a work around for this?

Yes, Im new to billings, Im trying to get set up and Im all about the daily rate. Please add this in as a slip type! I find 2 ok workarounds in the forum- here and here but they are both pretty clunky. Day rate could be like hourly, just using days instead of hours as the unit. I need to bill clients by the hour, the day, and quantity on the same invoice.

I've forwarded this to our engineering team as a feature request.

Just to add weight to this as I charge by the day too. Currently I am using 'Quantity' for days, which kind of works but would like to be specific to avoid delays with queries from Accounts departments.

Finding out about the possibility of daily rates in Billings is actually the reason I came to this forum in the first place.
I'm still only in Billings trial mode, but almost certain I'll switch from clunky and heavily over-featured (for my uses) Studiometry 4.1.x.

However, being able to send estimates and bills with daily rates as well as hourly rates (as well as quantity etc.) would be much appreciated.

I recommend just using a Quantity or Flat rate slip instead of Timed. You could easily create Blueprints for your daily rate. In your case I'd probably use Quantity so you could bill for x number of days. Think of your days work as a product rather than an hourly service. Have you tried this already, any reason why it didn't work out for you? I bill in a similar fashion and it's been working great for me.
