NOTE: We have not been able to make any progress on this recently. Our focus has been Billings 3.5 and Billings Touch. They should be out soon, we will refocus thereafter. Sorry! (updated Dec 19)

As of Billings 3.0.6 (Beta), we currently have localizations in French, German, Dutch and Japanese.

Current efforts:
- For German: UI Strings, Apple Help, no templates
- For Dutch: UI Strings, Templates
- For Japanese: UI Strings, Templates
- For French: UI Strings, Templates

The applications would be considered completely localized if the following 4 components are done:
- UI Strings (The actual application interface)
- Templates (invoices, estimates, statements, envelopes and reports)
- Quick Start Guide (PDF)
- Apple Help (HTML)

(Change in policy - Feb 14, 09 - Quick Start and Apple Help no longer considered critical for release. Voice your opinion if you feel otherwise)

Changes in build 30406
- Made changes to Japanese terms based on feedback from Aki and Noby.
- Made changes to Dutch terms (Stefaan)
- Fixed 2 areas where localization was not happening (pick client, and pick project sheets)
- Stretched some labels in the First Run Assistant to fit German terms

Changes in build 30407
- Made changes to Dutch terms based corrections from Stefaan and feedback from Frank
- We are now tracking the timer to the second (before it was to the minute). We don't show the seconds in the timers window, but you can see them in the Log
- You can edit start and end times for each timer start/pause

Changes in build 30416
- Finalized Japanese Templates
- Finalized Dutch Templates
- Made some Dutch UI translation fixes
- Made compatible with the upcoming 3.9 (low level API stuff that nobody sees - handles pre and post 3.9)
- Added the ability to show the order of elements in the report editor outline in render order or in display order (use the contextual menu to toggle). Display order is the default now
- Fixed a bug when saving templates with "app shared" images would still save the images statically in the template
- Fixed a bug where a report element selection was not properly reflected in the outline
- Now showing the first few characters of a text area in the outline if you haven't customized the name
- German templates not done. We need help with this.

Changes in build 30417
- Added the report template "Payments Received Grouped by client"
- Fixed Bulk Edit so any currency formatted values are actually applied without needing to tab out of the field
- Disabled the ability to delete invoiced slips from the All Slips view (this should have never been an option)
- Improvements to the Report Editor's source list selection
- Billings Detail Time & Flat Activity report: fixed issue with selecting All Slip as user input
- Fixed two reports ("Invoice Details" and "Invoice Details by Client") where the "prepayment applied" was mixed into the total tax

Changes in build 30601
- Added French localization (UI Strings). Special Thanks to Damien Tourailles (miendo)!
- Tweaked German localization (UI Strings). Special Thanks to Benedikt Roßgardt!

You can use Billings 3.0.3 -> 3.0.6 Beta interchangeably. So you can use the same database, but please do not run the both applications at the exact same time.

unfortunately, since the autoupdate to 3.0.4 i can't get billings to run in the german version. is there any hidden button for this? =(

i am running mac os x 10.5.6 in german. the contextmenu launcher plugin, mentioned in another thread, does not seem to work with leopard. the beta version runs in german without any trouble.

Download build 30417 from the link above (exactly the same as 30418 except for the version number).

I'll make a 3.0.5 beta with German in the next couple of days.

now i do have the german version back, but there are no invoice / estimate templates anymore. only one i've modified myself before. not cool.

When is the new Beta published? Billings is kinda unuseable for me without a german translation of the GUI.

For the english "Statement" You have got the word "Abrechnung" in German. But in this context the word is not quite right. (The word describes a bill too !!!)

Better is the word "Mahnung" for a statement and "Mahnungen" for statements.

We'll make this change in Billings 3.0.6 Beta.
We just released Billings 3.0.5 with the German removed (since most people seem to think that the translation job is not good enough).

The release version of 3.0.5 is exactly the same as the 3.0.5 beta minus the German and French localization.

We have to stay with the 3.0.5 beta right now (link updated above). Because of our ongoing work for Billings Touch, a new build would not be as stable as 3.0.5.
