Hi-

I'm running Daylite and DMI in trial mode right now. I'm a recovering ACT user (12 years-ACT 2007 put me over the edge) and I'm getting used to navigating the Daylite interface. My question is this-is there a simple way to open a new email to a contact other than the shift-apple key-M combo? As an aspiring ex-Windows guy, I'm still not used to the whole keyboard command thing...I'm looking for a button or a right-click option.

Thanks!

Jeff Deuel

Well, yes - if you select a contact there is a contextual menu choice to "Write Email". It's also up top in the Actions Menu.

Do you have a 2 button mouse? If not it's probably something you'd enjoy as the right button brings up the contextual menus. With a 1 button mouse you "Control-click" on an item to bring up the contextual menu.

Regards,

Howard

In addition to the availability of contextual menus, you can go one better by checking the Daylite Preferences where you will find a control pane in the first row called "Contextual Menus" where you can choose, for most–if not all, what items you want to show up in your contextual menus.

So…you get to pick what commands are important to your work flow.

Thanks guys-as usual, the answer was right in front of me... I didn't have 'Write Email' as a contextual choice until I added it-now I'm off to find a 2-button mouse!

You are welcome. If you have a laptop, then let me recommend the Apple Wireless Mighty Mouse. It is much more compact than a typical mouse yet larger than the typical laptop mouse.

Also, if you have a newer Apple laptop, then you can turn on two-finger on trackpad for control-click functionality. I love it when it is not good to get the mouse out.

Thanks, man-

I'm still getting used to my new Mac, a 24" 2.33 Core Duo, and I've already got a wireless mighty mouse. I'm ashamed to admit-I didn't know it had right-click ability (well-you can't 'see' the buttons... rolleyes ) until you posted this. I changed the configuration in system preferences, and hot damn-I can right-click and send an email. My poor clients won't know what hit 'em!
