Has anyone used or compared Redlien to Daylite??

A client of mine uses Redlien.

http://www.redlien.com

Any thoughts on comparisons would be great. It sounds like they basically do the same thing?

Dang,

Why did you have to remind me....?

Corey Redlien was the developer of this program and it was on it's way to being the quintessential CRM for Mac. A real sales focused CRM with a great interface and something no one else has ever gotten close too on the Mac...a dashboard.

I owned it...I loved it...I corresponded with Corey...and then...one day out of no-where...He stopped responding...completely.
It's now been almost 3 years since that day. I have tried to track down Corey just to say hello and make sure something bad did not happen to him but to no avail.

He was on to something that no other Mac CRM can say, he was coding ACT!+!

Sorry about the news....just hearing Redlien spoken made me remember the vacuum it left.

He worked for Daylite?

So, are you suggesting that Redlien is not current any longer?

I agree from the video that the dashboard is a nice tool.

Aside from that, it seems like pretty much the same thing?

PS. Sorry to bring up memories. :-)

No...he did not work for Daylite...
and yes (unfortunately) his app hasn't changes in 3 years.

Just to get that dashboard I wish he had smile.

Butterbutter...we are friends...do not apologize for being you!

I've seen you on the other boards I visit as well...my bet is we are on the same team looking for the same level of a CRM application.

I don't have any comments to make directly about Redlien but I would like to offer a warning: it uses Openbase and if you are intending to give it a try please be careful! If it's not the same version of Openbase you could get into a lot of trouble by screwing up your Daylite installation. I haven't seen their installer but it might overwrite the Openbase already on your computer or change its settings in some way. Several years ago this happened to me when I decided to try the SOHO suite of applications. Just a word to the wise......

Regards,

Howard

Redlien was nice. A little buggy, but the best UI on the Mac. The Dashboard was the killer feature. We need one in Daylite. P.S. Don't install it on a current Daylite system. The version of OpenBase it ships with is ancient. Ancient.

Yes, yes and yes. (Frankly, I've been asking for this functionality since Daylite version 1.)

If one can judge by the video clip, I've yet to see another program/dashboard with that level of flexibility and ease of use. Makes me wish I was a venture capitalist and could track down the reclusive Mr. Redlien. His program definitely showed promise.

SugarCRM has pretty decent dashboards that are easy to customize:

Daylite would help the end users by providing a executive summary dashboard(s).

Yeah,

We have pleyed with Sugar as well just because of the "from 30,000 feet" view.

The only thing that prevented us from switching was no isync compatibility.

JRM...I owned Redlien and it was "all that" the video was extremely accurate!
