Hi, in using the Daylite merge to email using a template, I have two questions:
1). can I get Daylite NOT to record an activity record with each person sent the merged email?
2). In testing, we used the "Open in Email Client" step to look at and then canceled each email, yet Daylite recorded an activity that it sent the email, is there a way to delete this incorrect activity from all the contacts in one action, or do you need to open each contact and delete the activity one by one, from each?

There's no way to prevent or automatically delete a merge activity - it gets added to the database and linked to the contact as part of the merge process. Once it's sent to the email client, Daylite's out of the loop, so there's no way for it to know if the email got discarded or not.

You'll have to manually delete each of the activities from the database.
