I'm logging telephone calls with clients as notes, but would like to link these with the related organisation or contact.
Is this possible?
Or is there a better way to record client-specific notes, e.g. telephone calls?

This is of course possible! Most things can be linked to most other things in DL. In fact, if you create the note from the contact view (i.e. with the contact selected), then DL *automatically* links the contact and their default organisation.

You can give the Note a category "Telephone call" (you define categories as you like in Preferences) then you can distinguish these notes from others.

However, DL also offers you a "Dial Primary Phone" under Actions. This brings up a Task window that is pre-populated with info and is automatically linked to the contact/org that you have selected. This is recorded in DL as a Task rather than a Note, but similarly allows you to assign a category tagging it as a telephone call.

These are some fundamental functions of DL. I'd recommend you take a stroll through the DL manual as it sounds like there's plenty more you could be doing with DL!
