I have a Smart List for Today's Appointments...

Appointments > Start Date is Today

For some reason I get a whole bunch of other contacts showing which do not have an appointment starting today.

I can't figure out why?

I have found that the date entering can be temperamental sometimes. Did you use the calendar or did you type the dates in when creating the smart list? Try both to see if it makes a difference.
Other than that double check that you are searching on start date and not something else.

Not sure if this helps but it might.

If you are getting stuff that is off by just one day, it's probably an issue w/ times--Daylite is very inconsistent with whether a date is treated as "the current time on the day in question", or "midnight on the day in question", and so I often have smart lists that have date criteria that don't appear to be working correctly at first glance.

I also notice, checking quickly, that I set my "Today's Appointments" smart list up to use "End Date" rather than "Start Date", which makes me suspect that when I did so, it was to work around some oddity of how Start Date matching is done. (My immediate suspicion is that it might have been repeating events that caused me to do that...)

Thanks for the suggestions.

I tried switching to End Date and it made no difference.

I'm scratching my head on this one.
