in a prior version of Daylite, before upgrading to 3.x, I would assign categories to my tasks, have them color coded, then there was an option to have the task display make the whole line the category color. It fit my work flow beautifully
now, unless I'm missing it, it seems we’ve lost the ability to color code the entire line in the task list. We can display the little color ‘ball’ and sort by that, but visually it’s just not the same. Does anyone know if it’s still possible to do this? If not, I guess I'll be firing off another enhancement request, which in this case will be ‘please enhance your product by giving me functionality you used to have.’ |

I don't believe the colour coded lines are available in the current version - at least I've never seen them. Personally, I prefer the coloured ball. It's there, and by sorting by Category Colour, you can group these similar tasks together. But when viewing all the information in the task list, you're not 'coloured' by the whole line and the data is easier to read - at least for me.

I can certainly understand while some/most would want just the ball and not the whole line, but what sucks is that I bought Daylite when it had the ability to color the whole line and I created workflow around that functionality, and then they took it away. Give me the option to do in 3.x what I did in 1.x. If someone doesn’t want to see it, then don’t see it.
It may sound dumb, but with the time management methodology I use the ability to group them visually in this way was a key point in me going with Daylite in the first place. The ball is just too subtle a visual cue for me. I don’t understand why they had to take away this functionality, and I wish they would restore it. |

I agree with Rick. When you develop a unique approach to managing your contacts, tasks, etc., and then something is changed like this, it is frustrating.
Two preference settings could be created where: 1). The colored lines could be turned on or off 2). The color's level of opacity could be adjusted. |
