The following scenario occurs:
Person X who is a friend & client is using one and the same email address. We have made one contact record (categorised as a friend) and one as an organisation. When emails come in only the "friend" record shows, but instead we would like it to be the organisation's linked project/opportunity. In DL we have linked the "friend" record to the "organisation" and vice versa. The fix is to link the "friend" record to the project or opportunity - but you would expect DL to do this as the links are already, albeit indirectly, established. Is there a different method to establish this without having to link multiple records (from the same person) to all applicable projects, opportunities & tasks? Addendum: The "fix" we tried with one project doesn't seem to work with another similar project... Need some help please.... This message has been edited. Last edited by: Wim, |

if DMI finds one result for an email adres it is not looking further for an other contact.
we never link emails tot contacts or organizations, but we only add them to projects of opportunities, seems it can show a lot of those with the same contact listed |

I've always found that while the idea of separating a single person into two separate records seems to be a good idea, it typically isn't in the long run.
That is why I only put in one record for each person, regardless of how many types of relationships I have with them. Daylite will not necessarily link a project to a contact if the project is linked to an organization. I have one organization that is a client, I have over 50 contacts linked to that organization. I have projects on the go with up to 4-5 different contacts, but not every contact. Some projects are linked to 1 contact in the organization, some are linked to multiple. It would be impossible for Daylite to know what it should automatically link.
