Hi,
using Daylite Trial version to make a simple job search tool (used the Sales database sample with a custom 'Jobs' Pipeline workflow). This is helping me keep track of current opportunities and contacts on my new career search, while also giving me some practical insights into simple CRM techniques. So...mostly it is good stuff...but there are a few questions. 1) Adding notes to an opportunity : Today, for instance I added notes of a phone call to an opportunity. Later, I looked at the opp to find nothing linked with it ! When I looked through the notes I found the note as written with a link to the opportunity ! Whats going on - shouldn't I be able to see the link in either direction ? Generally I'd like to be able to add lots of notes to opps and contacts and be able to see them easily. EDIT : oops - just found the place for notes - under the Activity tab, consider this one answered and I slapped my own wrist. 2) Reports : so far these look too scary ! I like the smart lists on the screen (Open opps, Lost Opps etc), but can't find any easy way of getting reports or 'KPIs' out of the system. Like a front screen saying : 5 Live Opps today or 10 new opps in last 2 weeks. I have expertise with systems like Business Objects, Siebel Analytics even some SAP-BW (a real monster), but getting stuff out of Daylite ... Any top tips here ?1 3) DMI - I think... the e-mails linked are notes, so a lot of the remarks from 1) above apply here as well. Is there a way of setting up DMI so that all e-mails to a given person (really to a contact's e-mail address) get logged against that contact ? Even when you are not logged into Daylite. Any help here appreciated. Eoin Sharkey Reading, Berkshire, UK |

Eoin -
If you have access to email, why wouldn't you have Daylite always open? When I want an email to be in DL, I start from inside DL & that automagically brings a copy of the email back into DL. Works exactly the same way when starting in mail. - David OS X v10.4.11 Daylite v3.7.6 (Build 1611) |
