I usually display my calendar in the week mode. I like being able to see the tasks on the right. I don't see a way to sort those tasks by priority. The sorting seems random to me.

Is there a way to sort these tasks in the calendar view. Sorting by priority would be best.

Thanks,
Chris

You seem to be correct. I cannot find any way to change the sort order.

The task list only shows overdue tasks in this view. They are sorted by due date, with the oldest being at the top. I guess the thinking is that you would want to do them in the order that are due and the longer something is overdue, well... it just needs to be done! grin

It would be nice if there was some kind of sort criteria allowed.

I agree. I would love to be able to sort by category.

I keep my entire life in DL, personal and work stuff, so since the task list in Daily Calendar View with the To-Do list visible is sorted alphabetically, I've started putting letters ahead of my tasks. All my "P-" for personal or "C-" for calls get grouped together, for example

A work around that works for Damon.

A work-around like Damon's indicates software failure.

This should be a top priority for Marketcircle... if only they could order their tasks by priority ;-)

I have to agree with az that if Damon has to do a "work around" like placing P's and C's in to get the program to work a certain way. It's just showing Daylite's lack of much needed features that are completely missing, especially features in the Calendar View. Tasks should be able to be listed and viewed in the calendar view just the same as appointments. Appointments should be able to be listed in the task view in calendar as well. The ability to view tasks in various views as of date, due date, or oldest should be a no brainer. Market Circle should allowed Daylite to have this expandability although everyone works differently it would allow us users to tailor Daylite to the way we work rather than the way the software works.

I would imagine that this is not the only "Work Around" that Damon has for Daylite? If you are having to do so may "Work Arounds" it definitely a software failure. I would suggest if anything change the name of Daylite to "Work Around."

Bill, most definitely need to look around for the best contact management software. If there is another software that works better, why not! Here check out what Now Software is doing with their new software called Nighthawk. Really nice Calendar interface. http://www.nowsoftware.com/nighthawkSubsite/index.html I am sure the people at Market Circle are working hard and will eventually come up with something better than what they have now for the Calendar. It depends on how long people want to wait or do their "Work Around's."

One distinct advantage DayLite has over Nighthawk is that DayLite currently exists.

I switched from Now Up-to-Date and Contact to Daylite. NUD just doesn't have everything that daylite has. It's a nice calendar. And a nice contact program, but they don't work together very well and the server was most definitely flakey.

I hope they do well, but I don't have much hope for Nighthawk (although I like the name).
