I really like the idea of dialing and receiving calls through Daylite.

I need a bit of advice. We have an office with four people in it. We all share a DL database on a local server. We have a land line system. I envision all of the users being able to make and receive calls independently over four separate lines in our office using the DL system.

On a very basic level, is this achievable?
Two of them also have bluetooth phones, and would like to use them as well.
What variables does that throw into the mix.

I should mention that we are in Alberta, Canada if carriers make a difference.

Basically wondering if anyone has set-up a similar and what works and what doesn't.

Thanks
Grant Waddell

I am not sure I understand what you are doing…exactly. And the details matter here. However, here is what we have.

We have ten lines being run through a combination of traditional POTS lines and VOIP lines. We use Asterisk as our phone server. To dial the phone from Daylite, we have added Jon's Phone Tools. It does a great job.

What we are missing is the ability to have Daylite pull up a list of possible contacts based on information from Caller ID. However, I keep looking and hoping to see that functionality from someone like JPT. That said, there might be a plug-in that does allow this. I just do not recall having seen one yet.

Hi J. Scott,
I believe GammaStream's DayPhone will do that for you. You can see it here:

Take care,

Hi Guys-

I've been using DayPhone in conjunction with PhoneValet for a couple of months, and it's absolutely awesome. It allows me to dial a client from DL, record the conversation if needed, and then link the conversation back to the DL contact. It also pops up the client list based on caller ID. I have it set up to give clients a menu that includes the option to tranfer to our trading desk if I'm unavailable, tranfer to my cell phone, etc. I have my cell set up to forward (if I don't answer) back to my second office line, which then takes the message.

I have profiles set up so that, based on caller ID or time of day, the system will handle calls differently. For example, I have a special outgoing message for my wife and kids when they call in, and for some of my clients, automatic recording of both incoming and outgoing calls.

This setup does exactly what I needed it to do. No connection with Parliant, just a raving fan.

I believe, using PV Anywhere, you can set up the system to announce callers across the network, so whomever needs to pick up is notified. As far as Bluetooth goes, I don't know...

I use Phone Valet, at home and have to admit that it is an awesome application. It could use some improvements, like being able to assign profiles and actions by group. Also, indexing by some id number would be better than index by name. The current system does not allow me to assign multiple phone numbers to the same name…very annoying.

OK, I'm lost... been reading for days about phone systems and DL. Sought the DayPhone/Phone Valet so praised - no DayPhone on internet that I can find. Sought Dialectic/Asterisk so praised. I'm not a programer.
Here's what I need and have, please can anyone help??
Have:
10.5.4
existing Linksys ADA 2700 series for other company with one active line (capacity for 2).
Need:
DL integration
partner in other state w/DL shared database to be on same system/data
phone that answers, forwards to mailboxes, gives info, conferences for/with both of us.

Can someone out there offer any suggestions? I'm not slow and take direction well, just don't know about this stuff. I'm flying at break neck speed down the rabbit hole and really have other things to do.
Thanks, in advance, for your time and consideration,
Kat

Hi Kat
Check www.gammasteam.com for DayPhone and www.phonevalet.com. And dialectic is a great program as well. The message center of Phonevalet, with the added functionality of Dayphone maybe what you need. I use all three of these products on a daily basis. PhoneValet is a very deep program, it should have all you need for messaging. Dayphone will allow you to work directly into DL the new call. I use Dialectic for dialing my iPhone when I am on the road.
