My company is using Daylite for shared calendars and contacts..so far we like it a lot. We have added our conference rooms and our data projectors to our resources list and when we schedule meetings, we link both the individuals and the resources. My question is, how do I view a Resources availability? Currently, we are adding the resource as a "person" as well and we can view that "person's" schedule, but since they are inanimate objects, they can not reply to a meeting request and can therefore be simultaneously book for the same timeframe by multiple people. What is the best method for handling this sort of situation?

Hi BSpears,
When you're creating an appointment there is a Schedule button on the bottom right area of the appointment creation window. This button will bring up the schedule window where you can see conflicts dealing with contact appointments and resource usage. |

I didn't think Resources showed in the Schedule window? This has been mentioned before. I haven't checked recently though. Nick |

Does the conflict check prompt you to reschedule if the user is already booked for something or if the resource (eg meeting room) is already in use at that time?
We book out photographers for wedding days and its incredibly important that they don't get booked for two as you can imagine! This is also the case for evening client meetings in the studio when multiple meetings will be happening. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to book people out, alerting warnings when someone tries to book them again? Also for resources? Thanks |

There currently isn't a popup error/conflict message but if you use Oscar's suggestion of linking the desired Users and Resources, then clicking the Schedule button, you can visually see any conflicts. And if there are conflicts, you can adjust the date and/or time of the appointment until there are no conflicts. Both Resources and Users appear in the Schedule section.
I would also like the appointment to pop up an error if it finds a scheduling conflict with any 1 of the users or resources, taking the user to the Schedule section automatically. But for the moment, it's a good habit to get into (and fast) to click the Schedule button and verify that everyone and everything is available. Hi Cynthia. Thanks for that.
We'll certainly put that into practise but I am quite dissapointed not see this feature. Marketcircle.... are there any plans to put this in place??? We really do see this as a core function of any crm system. |

I have to agree, I find it quite frustrating. Are there any plugins that support is? Would be great it we could add it in an update soon! Thanks

Rest assured that MC do know of this shortcoming. I am hopeful that the resources thing is something that will be addressed in an upcoming version.
