As a new user i'm trying to figure out how I can set a follow-up phone call for contact i've just spoken with at a date in the future. I don't want it to be a scheduled appointment at a specific time and I don't want it visible until the date i'm to call back. And it would really be great if when I miss the call back date, the follow-up notification would continue to appear until I marked it completed. Any suggestions?

Michael, can you be a little more specific?

I'd like to be able to flag a contact for a follow up call on a certain date, but without any alerts that pop up on that date. Instead, I'd like to be able (when I have time set aside) to ask Daylite, "Who is due a follow up call today or earlier?"

Can Daylite do that?

Hi TomM,

If you are logging the phone calls as Tasks, there is a way to create a direct Follow-up Task after that Task has been complete. Once you have entered all the details of the task and it has marked complete, in the same line where you can press Cancel or OK , there is a drop down menu that allows you to either create a new Follow-up Task/Appointment or Continue.

Once you have created this Follow-up Task, you can specify a reminder date to notify you.

Hi Kelly,

This is a method that I follow, where I specify the follow-up date, but would not like a task notification or alert to appear. In this scenario, I use the Extra Date Fields.

I specify one of the Extra Date Fields on the Contact and then have a Smart-list to show, the info based on the Extra Date Field is before tomorrow. This will not only show dates for today, but also prior dates.

Once I have done my follow-up, I simply delete the date, or replace it with the next date scheduled.

Sean,

How does this apply for Appointments? How do you create a Follow-Up Appointment from the Appointment you already have? Where is the Follow-up drop down menu for Appointments?

You cannot create a Follow-up Appointment for an Appointment. Once a task has been complete, you have the ability to create a follow-up task or a follow-up appointment. This is especially great since now that you are done your phone call (task), you can automatically schedule your next phone call/meeting etc as a task or appointment.
