I am a Maximizer software user and thinking of moving to Daylight. Anyone have any stories of the trials and tribulations associated with moving to Daylight? Is it worth the effort? What should I expect?

Hello Kevin,

We switched over at our office, and have not looked back since.

I find it much easier to use, although you should expect a learning curve. How steep depends entirely on your knowledge base.

We decided to make life simple and hire a marketcircle partner, a GOOD consultant. He supplied us with the hardware and software, converted our database from Maximizer to daylite with minimal stress.

One decision we made was not to spend the money to convert all our old database info to maximizer, instead we installed parallels and use it for the very rare time we need to look back on something. It was less expensive to do this and we find we hardly ever use it, perhaps once in 6 months.

We found this the best way to do it, so we can concentrate on our business and not our computers. I am good at what I do, but perhaps not as good with computers as many, and I will openly admit that.

Case in point is we just switched to macbook airs, our tech had it in our hands next day working perfectly. Well worth the money to use a professional.

If you want any more info, email me.

Hi.
Quite a few years ago now I installed Maximiser for my sales team (about 5 people). It worked well actually and both applications compare well.
The most noticeable thing is that both use the concept of having different records for Contacts and Organisations.
Also both have fairly similar approaches to Opportunities.
both are also served over a network to multiple users.

When I moved over to the Mac some three years ago we needed an equivalent application and I found just what I was looking for in Daylite. so much so that we now provide consulting services for Daylite.

Daylite stacks up to Maximiser easily and in many ways I think it is better. Daylite is easier to customise and the use of smart lists for saved searched alone sets it apart.

hope this helps.

Ditto for my experience - I used Maximizer in past years and though it was powerful it had a lot of bugs and frustrations and downtime associated with it. Daylite easily tops it in terms of reliability, ease-of-use and flexibility, not to mention existing on the excellent OS X platform!
