Just chiming in - it is a basic need for most people. Right now all I do is change the date on a repeating task rather than click done but it would be nice if that was not necessary!

I hope they take the time to figure a way to do this.

just a question. if you can set up the reoccuring tasks in ical, can't you just sync it up with daylite? I am new to daylite and am trying this out right now, though daylite has crashed about 10 times in a row and I am about to give up.

That's a good point - never thought of doing it the other way around. I will try. As far as Daylite Crashing - have had few issues with that - sorry you are having that issue. I would send Tech support an e-mail with your system configuration to see if they can help you.

iCal does not have a recurring task feature.

Correct, the distinction between task/appointment and event/todo are very important. We want them all to have the same flexibility, but Daylite/MarketCircle insists on treating them differently. We're all hoping that they see the light someday soon.

When it didn't get added to version 3, I was told that the database model was incompatible with repeating tasks and that it would be a big engineering effort to add them. So don't get your hopes up. As far as I can tell, they made some unfortunate software architecture decisions early on that are incompatible with repeating tasks and they can't justify the expense of fixing those decisions. Repeating tasks are more difficult than appointments mainly because of the auto forward feature. Like what do you do when an uncompleted occurence of a repeating tasks autoforwards until it overlaps the next occurrence? Unless you design repetition into your tasks at the outset, you pretty much have to start from scratch to add repeating. So I have given up on Daylite. They don't consider it important enough and may never. Until it goes on an official feature list that they publicly advertise, I wouldn't be encouraged at all.

Samuel, Why do you think MarketCircle would get themselves into an architecture that would hamper their ability to provide something that seems so simple but to enormous for engineers to fix? Do you find these architecture incompatibilities are the cause of MarketCircle's inability to address, implement, provide many redundant "feature requests" from users of Version 1.X though Version 3?

you can set up a reoccurring all day event in ical that repeats, and it syncs into daylite as an appointment. this is a way around it for now right? you can set up weekly reminders or yearly birthday reminders and it will repeat for you.

I think it is essential to be able to schedule repeating Tasks .. in my mind i see little difference between them and Appointments anyway.

Agreed. This is another major issue. I so want to love Daylite but it just isn't quite there yet.

I would love to see repeating tasks. I also have tasks that need to repeat monthly and some weekly and right now I have to enter them in individually or not at all.
