Is there any way to see the criteria used by the default lists like Recent Contacts or My Contacts?
It looks like the former list shows the 10 most recent contacts that have been accessed, rather than modified/created, but I can't find any field that I can use for a similar sort of filter for Smart Lists that I'm creating. Similarly, for My Contacts, I'm showing 1 fewer contact in that list than in the full "Contacts" list, so I'm trying to figure out which contact I have that apparently isn't mine, but I can't figure out what the criteria is that the list is using to decide what is and isn't mine. Hello Sweth,
The Recent Contacts, by default, shows last 10 but you can change that number in Preferences>General (bottom right). That 1 Contact that's not assigned to you can be found by creating a smart list with the criteria of... OK. Is there any way to see the actual criteria being used, though, or (more importantly) duplicate their effect? I'd really like the ability to find records that I've viewed recently, but I can't find any fields that give me that ability.
Very much; I now see that that record is the Daylite Admin contact, which is owned by itself. The question then becomes--what's the story with that contact? I'm assuming it's something necessary and automatically created, but I can't find any mention of it in the (remarkably unhelpful) user manual. Anyone have pointers to docs on what that contact is for? -- Objective advice about real estate and mortgages in the Washington DC area http://ethicalhomes.com/ |

While you can't see the criteria, it's pretty easy to figure out what they're doing. My Contacts are those assigned to your user. Recent are those that have been viewed. You can change the number of Recent in Preferences>General. There isn't a smart list criteria for "Viewed" though there is one for "Modify Date".
The DayLite Admin contact is automatically created whenever you create a new database and is very important. You don't want to change that Contact's name or monkey around with it, with the exception of perhaps putting an email in it's record. If you lose/forget the DayLite Admin password it can be emailed to whatever email you give the DayLite Admin Contact.
